Foundation Drain Inspection Peace Canyon Dam

Project: SCL was hired by BC Hydro Generations to deliver a foundation drain inspection project at the Peace Canyon dam. The Project will be followed by a drain cleaning project in 2019.
Services: Procurement, site safety coordination, developed the master schedule, organized and led the pre-job meeting, ensured safety and environmental compliance, monitored variances in the budget, schedule and scope and created a comprehensive completion report.
Walter Hardman Dam Safety Investigation
Duration: March 2017 - November 2018
Project: SCL was hired by BC Hydro Dam Safety to deliver a dam safety investigation project at the Walter Hardman dam. The Project was carried out over 2 years, 2017 and 2018, in order to gather the required information for the Dam Safety Review.

Storm Water Management Plan
Duration: January 2018 - May 2018
Project: SCL was hired to prepare an Environmental Management Plan for the long-term management of seasonal storm water Run-off at an Asphalt Plant.
Services: Created project scope documentation, insured all associated legal documentation was reviewed and applied, created a long-time scheduled for water quality sampling, and organized lab analysis of samples..
Strathcona Rock Scaling
Duration: June 2017 - November 2017
Project: During a maintenance inspection unstable rock above the Strathcona Dam was identified. SCL managed the project to remove the loose rocks and inspect the rock face.

Quinsam River Diversion Canal Joint and Concrete Repairs
Duration: March 2017 - September 2018
Project: The Quinsam river diversion canal required expansion joint and spot concrete repairs along the whole diversion canal, ~1km.

Wahleach Dam Crest Road and Lock Block Rehabilitation
Duration: March 2017 - September 2018
Project: Over time the Wahleach Dam crest road and lock blocks required rehabilitation and repairs. The goal of the project was to rehabilitate the road and lock blocks to the original design.

Peace Canyon Dam Parking Lot Repaving
Duration: March 2017 - June 2018
Project: SCL hired by BC Hydro Generation to deliver a Parking Lot Repaving project. It was identified that water pooling in the parking lot was causing a seasonal safety issue.

G.M. Shrum Generating Station Drainage Adit Access Repair
Duration: March 2017 - November 2017
Project: The overall objective of this project is to improve the rock fall protection around drainage adits, ditching and cleaning the winter sand.

Strathcona Flume Concrete Repair Work
Duration: January 2017 - July 2018
Project: SCL was hired to deliver a concrete repair work project on the Hallow-Cone Valve Concrete flume at the Strathcona Dam. The project included cast in place concrete and to lay new rebar where there were damaged or lost sections.

Jordan River Road Rehabilitation
Duration: January 2017 - October 2017
Project: Over time the Jordan River road becomes over grown with vegetation and difficult to drive due to erosion. The purpose of the project was to rehabilitate the Jordan River road.

Overhead Crane Training and Authorization Program
Duration: February 2016 - September 2018
Project: Implement a WorkSafe compliant fixed crane operator training program.
Services: Created project scope documentation, assemble a technical user group, procured and monitored training consultant, created master training rollout schedule. Led a one day training curriculum workshop and completed a rollout presentation to each generation station.
Mica Dam U1 Trash Rack Cleaning
Duration: February 2016 - May 2017
Project: Manage the trash rack cleaning project a Mica Dam. The scope included assembling a barge for the crane to situate itself near the trash rack, real-time acoustic surveying to guide the crane operator and debris disposal

Seven Mile Dam Road Realignment
Duration: May 2015 - November 2017
Project: Provide a project solution to ensure safe passage for vehicles traveling along the Seven Mile Dam Access road. The included a geotechnical investigation, road rehabilitation design and executing the design.
Services: Procured and monitored consultants and construction contractor, provided on site construction management, facilitated the acquisition of all safety permits, provided safety and environmental recommendations, created master construction schedule and created a comprehensive completion report.
Elko Dam Public Warning System
Duration: May 2014 - March 2016
Project: BC Hydro hired SEC to plan and install a public warning system at the Elko Dam.
Services: Scope development, held public engagement meeting, developed construction schedule, monitored design and installation work and provided a comprehensive completion report.
Alberfeldie Dam Intakes Dredge
Duration: January 2014 - September 2015; May 2019 - June 2019
Project: BC Hydro dredges the Aberfeldie Dam headpond regularly to ensure flow into their generator intakes. In June 2014, BC Hydro undertook a larger dredge to remove sediment from the ABN headpond. Sediment removal occurred again in 2019.
Services: Prepared reports for DFO, obtained environmental approvals, provided on site project management, procured contractors and helped monitor budget, scope and schedule.
